Literary Leftovers’ Donation Policy
Updated February 2024
We are always happy to receive fiction and nonfiction, children’s books of all types, HOMESCHOOL CURRICULUM, and whatever other treasures our community is willing to pass on.
We simply could not do what we do without such various and generous donations from you guys, and we thank everyone who has ever, at any point in LL’s lifetime, taken the time to donate your books to us. We are so blessed with a network of truly excellent readers and neighbors.
Even though trade credit/consignment is not a viable option for our business, we happily offer 20% off any and all used merchandise on the day of your donation.
As of Feb. 2024, we no longer allow drop-and-dash donations. Each donation now must be hand-sorted by one of our booksellers. This is to help us manage stock overload, and to prevent us from having to dispose of many pounds of books that have been worn down by weather, bugs, and hands, which can not be sold in the shop. One of the most thrilling parts of bookselling is sorting and curating all manner of treasures, but we cannot be a disposal site for books that have degraded to the point that they’ve become paper waste. We thank you immensely for your cooperation and respect.
